Landscapes have been a focus of mine this past year, especially since I started participating in The Virtual Paintout. I love the chance to explore and paint a place where I have never set foot in before. I am also inspired by the scenes that I see every day in Massachusetts and around New England. |

The intricate detail of flowers is both challenging and satisfying to depict. My aim is usually not to create a botanical illustration, but to make a picture that conveys a specific mood, either exuberant or more subtle. |

I have been drawing portraits in graphite for a number of years. I love the challenge of capturing a likeness and seeing my skills improve with practice. Recently, I have enjoyed participating in Julia Kay’s Portrait Party, which is an excellent way to hone my skills. |
