New Workspace

After over a year of using my kitchen table as a desk, I have finally gotten my act together. Rather than go with a drafting table, I opted for a regular desk because I prefer to work on a flat surface and I wanted it to fit in with the look of the room. I went with the Patterson Desk from Crate and Barrel–it’s a nice size without being too big. I had a piece of glass cut to protect the top and now I don’t have to worry about coasters.

What really sold me on this desk was the huge space in the drawer that I can use to store a work in progress or my laptop. It’s perfect for keeping an important drawing away from Cate’s curious fingers.

I’m excited about this desk because I finally have a place of my own to work where I don’t have to pack up at a moment’s notice. Also, I am finally starting to decorate my space and feel comfortable where I am. I’m going for an uncluttered, cottage look. The next step is to paint the walls (light blue) and to make a painting to hang on the wall above my desk.
